President Biden will speak on “sustaining and protecting our democracy” at a DNC event in Washington, D.C., according to statements made on Wednesday by White House officials and the DNC.
A DNC advisory states that the president will talk at the Columbus Club in Union Station at 7 p.m. ET about “the challenge of election deniers and those who aim to erode faith in voting and democracy.”
Anita Dunn, a senior adviser in the White House, and Jen O’Malley Dillon, the deputy chief of staff, made the announcement at an Axios event on Wednesday morning.
“President Biden has, of course, been talking about democracy ever since he took office.” And before that, I believe you can anticipate hearing from him this evening in a manner similar to what he has been saying over the course of the last few months, namely that there is a lot at stake, including democracy, and that everyone has a role to play in that. In the nation’s capital, Dillon spoke with Mike Allen from Axios at the Axios News Shapers event.
