Authorities in New York City revealed early on Thursday morning that the body of a child who had been reported missing from the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn and had been recovered the night before in the Erie Basin. The child was nine years old.
On Wednesday night about 9 o’clock local time, the autistic and speechless youngster was last seen leaving an Ikea store with his family. They had been shopping there earlier in the day. According to the New York Daily News, the kid was located several hours later by police divers and transferred to the New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was finally pronounced dead.

The youngster who has been reported missing and whose identity has not been revealed had a black shirt, blue shorts, and orange Crocs with a thick white stripe directly above the sole when they were last seen. The NYPD discovered the shoes outside the establishment, which prompted a dive crew to check the surrounding environment.
