Relatives of Daniel Enriquez are petitioning New York City authorities to take action against the rising rate of crime in the city.
Two days after her brother Daniel Enriquez was killed in an act of random violence on a subway car, Griselda Vile and her husband spoke out against the existing situation in New York City. They pushed city leaders to make reforms so that Daniel Enriquez’s death would not be in vain.
Vile was filled with emotion when she went on the Tuesday morning edition of America’s Newsroom to talk about her brother and the place that she believes to be her home.
Through his interactions with the media, Vile expresses the desire that “this will not happen to another New Yorker, and that it will not happen to another family.”
The New York Post reports that the NYPD is eager to discuss the shooting with Andrew Abdullah and would like to talk with him. By looking at Abdullah’s record, which shows that he has been arrested 19 times in the past, Vile is reminded of earlier instances in which city and state policies have made it easier for criminals to be repeat offenders.
