Sam Kaplan, who is 98 years old and whose mother is named Virginia, was overjoyed to see his son graduate from Georgia Gwinnett College when he was 72 years old.

On Thursday, a guy from Georgia who is now 72 years old obtained his bachelor’s degree in cinema studies. His ecstatic mother, who is 98 years old, was there to observe the ceremony from the crowd.

Sam Kaplan, a resident of Lawrenceville, re-entered the educational system in 2019 and enrolled at Georgia Gwinnett College, fifty years after leaving college shortly after graduating from high school.

According to Kaplan, who spoke to FOX 5 Atlanta about his experience, “I was riding down the highway when I heard on the radio that they were offering this degree.” The next destination was Collinsville, so I got off at the exit for that city. By the time I was at school, I was able to register for courses, so it worked out well.

Words and stories have always had a special place in my heart. I had the intention of writing screenplays based on my stories, but I soon realized that I need some direction.
