Glenn Hilliard, a Wicomico County Deputy First Class, was killed in Pittsville, Maryland.
According to the authorities, a sheriff’s officer from Maryland was tragically shot on Sunday night while attempting to catch a fugitive. The incident occurred in Maryland.
According to the sheriff’s office, Deputy First Class Glenn Hilliard, 41, went after the suspect after seeing him exit an apartment complex in Pittsville. The complex housed multiple apartments. During Hilliard’s efforts to apprehend the culprit, he was murdered by gunfire.
After a protracted search, the culprit was located and taken into custody. The authorities did not immediately name the suspect, even though they stated he was wanted on several felony warrants in a number of other jurisdictions.
The same evening, an officer was involved in a shooting on Gumboro Road in Pittsville, and a man named Austin Davidson was wanted for questioning, according to a previous notice from the sheriff’s office. Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate Davidson, who was described as armed and dangerous, at a later date.
