Following a shooting at a pub that left two people dead and three injured, authorities in Washington state reported that a suspect in two double homicides had turned himself into police on Sunday.
According to the Tacoma Police Department, the shooting took place inside the Alleycat Patio and Lounge in Tacoma, close to Sixth Avenue and N Oakes Street, at roughly 1:30 in the morning.
Four people received gunshot wounds when the officers arrived, according to the police. Three victims were taken to a hospital; however, one victim passed away on the spot.
Subsequently, police reported that a second victim had passed away in the hospital and that they had identified a fifth shooting victim.
According to FOX13 Seattle, two of the surviving individuals suffered severe injuries, while the third had non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Det. William Muse of KOMO News, the shooting was not random and most likely occurred after the suspect interacted with one of the victims inside the pub.
While detectives are unsure what kind of interaction occurred or whether there was an altercation, Muse believes four of the shooting victims were spectators.
The alleged gunman, who has not been named publicly, surrendered to police at 4:30 p.m. and was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of first-degree assault.
