The recommended daily allowance (RDA) for vitamin D is 400 to 800 IU or 10 to 20 grams for 97% of the individuals, and the amount also should not be exceeded. However, some studies suggest that a higher daily intake of 1000–4000 IU (25–100 micrograms) is needed to maintain optimal blood levels.

As we know that diabetes occurs when the beta cells of the pancreas are unable to produce enough insulin to dissolve the blood sugar. Researches show that taking Vitamin D in early life can lower diabetes risk, moreover, it also lowers the blood sugar levels in diabetes and prediabetic patients.
