Hill started the game for the Bills. Tyreek Hill’s father attended the Miami Dolphins Thursday night game against the Buffalo Bills and remained nothing short of a steadfast supporter of his son.
Hill was on the sidelines of Hard Rock Stadium, donning a white T-shirt with the words “Free Cheetah” imprinted on it. A picture of his son’s victory celebration over the Jacksonville Jaguars last week also flashed on the jersey. Trying to mock his arrest by the police, the wide receiver put his hands behind his back, and Jaylen Waddle “unlocked” his make-believe shackles.
After two days of gruelling practices, Tyreek Hill was in the lineup for Thursday night’s game.
Hill was arrested on Sunday for moving infractions and taken into custody near Hard Rock Stadium. The violent moments of the event in which Miami-Dade Police stopped the player for a traffic violation, took him out of his car and handcuffed him to the ground were caught on camera.
One of the officers involved in the incident was assigned to administrative duties afterwards because of the arrest.
Since then, Hill has called for the officer to be taken off the force.
On Wednesday, the wide receiver spoke to the media during a news conference about the encounter. He said there were things he could have done differently.
“My whole life is all about accountability,” Hill said. For example, how can I do better? I have relatives who are cops. We have talked. I know I could have done a better thing. I could have rolled my window down immediately, but the thing about me is that I’m not a fan of being in the spotlight. I don’t want to look at you with my phone out at that time.”.
However, I’m only human at the end of the day. I must do what everyone else would do and abide by the regulations. Does that mean they can now actually beat the very hell out of me? Not at all. Ultimately, though, I wish I could go back and make a few slight adjustments.
