Manchester United suffered their joint-worst Premier League defeat on Sunday as they were beaten 6-1 by Tottenham at Old Trafford.
MEN Sport revealed prior to kick-off that the club has lined up medical for Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani on Sunday evening, but any pre-match optimism was soon quelled as United surrendered an early lead to trail 2-1 in the seventh minute.
Anthony Martial was sent off in the 29th minute after an off-the-ball incident involving Erik Lamela, which saw the Spurs player drop to the deck despite having instigated the altercation himself.
United capitulated following the Frenchman’s dismissal, conceding twice more before the break and twice after it.
