After the roof of a church in Mexico caved in, seven people are said to have died and about 20 more are stuck inside.
Local news reports said that 49 people were taken to the hospital after the roof of the Santa Cruz church in Ciudad Madero collapsed.
Around 100 people were at a mass when it fell, according to police in the coastal state of Tamaulipas. Local news outlets said that it was a baptism.
Children are thought to be among those who are stuck, and rescue efforts are still going on.
Images posted on social media showed the church building in ruins, with people crowding around the rubble to try to find people who were stuck inside.
People with shovels and pickaxes were said to be coming to try to move the broken things.
After the fall on Sunday afternoon, later posts showed that the police and fire departments were already on the scene.
On social media, people asked for medical and emergency supplies to help find lives.
People at the scene were told that the authorities asked them to be quiet so they could hear if anyone inside was calling for help.
José Armando lvarez Cano, the bishop of the diocese of Tampico, told the community on social media that work was being done “to find those under the rubble.”
He said it was a “difficult time” and finished his video message by saying, “May the Lord help you.”
