As part of the massive giveaway that Vice President Biden has promised, student loan borrowers all throughout the country might soon have up to $20,000 of their outstanding student loan debt forgiven.

There is a possibility that the state would levy taxes on the grants and scholarships given to students. Each jurisdiction has its own set of rules and laws regarding taxes.

An announcement was made that Dee Stegall, a former student at Mississippi State University, will have her student loans in the amount of $20,000 forgiven.

Stegall responded, “I was pretty glad to hear that,” when questioned with the news of receiving financing from the federal government.
