Talk about commitment to a record! Idaho’s very own David Rush has once again outdone himself, breaking his own Guinness World Record by transferring a staggering 1.3 gallons of water using only his hands in just 30 seconds. Yes, no fancy equipment, no scientific breakthroughs, just pure, unfiltered, soggy determination.
Rush, the Idaho man who holds the most concurrent Guinness World Records titles, beat one of his own records by using his hands to transfer 1.3 gallons of water between two containers in 30 seconds.
According to David “Record Breaker” Rush, it took him five years of attempts to set the record for most water moved by the hands in 30 seconds. He originally set this record in 2024 with 112.4 ounces (0.878 gallons) of water successfully transferred.
David Rush took aim at his own record and “obliterated” it with 172.5 ounces, or 1.3 gallons, of water moved. Speaking on his record, he said, “Persistence pays off, the weirdest goals can lead to rewarding victories, and sometimes, breaking your own record is even sweeter than setting the first one.”
His early efforts were disqualified due to technicalities, including a moving pitcher and an unapproved surface.
Some call it a feat of human endurance; others call it pointless. As always, the internet is ablaze with debate. Rush says this bizarre challenge taught him that “the weirdest goals can lead to rewarding victories.”
