According to the United States Forest Service, the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon fires in New Mexico had burned a total of 203,920 acres.

According to the department, the 1,759 firemen who battled flames in Red Flag circumstances were able to put out 39 percent of the blazes they encountered.
