A former Minneapolis police officer admitted guilt on Monday to second-degree manslaughter in connection with the death of George Floyd in May 2020.
One count of encouraging second-degree murder will be dropped thanks to J. Alexander Kueng’s guilty plea.
In the videotaped murder on May 25, 2020, Kueng assisted in controlling Floyd, who was bound and lying on his back.
He is the second police officer to admit guilt to the state’s accusation. To the same count, Thomas Lane already entered a guilty plea. This week’s trial for their former coworker Tou Thao is still set.
