Former Crystal Palace owner believes Christian Eriksen has many reasons to town down the offer from Manchester United and urged him to take his time to decide on his future.
Christian Eriksen made a miracles return to football after suffering from a heart attack during a group stage match against Finland in the Euro 2020. The Denish international was prevented from playing in the Italian Serie A because of the Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator that was inserted when he suffered a cardiac arrest.
Inter Milan announced that they have terminated their contract with Christian Eriksen in December 2021. Brentford United announced that they have signed Eriksen on a six-month deal on 31 January 2021. Eriksen was impressive in his six-month spell at Brentford scoring one goal and providing 4 assists in 11 appearances.
The Denish international has emerged as the top transfer target for Manchester United and Barcelona. Brentford United is also negotiating with Eriksen for a new contract.
However, Simon Jordan believes Christian Eriksen has enough reasons to reject declining Manchester United and carefully evaluate his options.
What did Simon Jordan Say?
The former Crystal Palace owner said via the Jordan show on talkSPORTS: “The question of Eriksen going to Manchester United is an interesting one because Man United is in a state of flux.
“Whilst Eriksen has been incredibly successful with Brentford – that’s one thing at the end of the table where you’re fighting for survival – he made a very big difference in a side that was in decline.
“And of course whilst Manchester United is in decline, going to Manchester United with that evolution or revolution or whatever Ten Hag is going to produce, may not mean he’s going to be a particularly front and center player.
“So I’m not entirely sure why he would turn down Man United but I’m not entirely sure that Manchester United was the right move.”
Simon Jordan has urged Christian Eriksen to carefully evaluate his option and not rule out a possible extension at Brentford.
Simon Jordan added: You know there was an opportunity given to him by Brentford, he took it, he should think very carefully at this stage of his career about what is right both from the point of view of integrity and also what’s right for him physically, mentally and the number of games that he wants to play.”
Jordan has also claimed that Manchester United has lost its power in the transfer market.
The former Crystal Palace owner continued: “I don’t think it should be looked at as Manchester United of old, how could you turn down Man United? There are many, many reasons you should turn down Manchester United because ultimately that team, probably from the engine room, needs a rebuild.
“I’m not suggesting going back to the challenges that Eriksen had a summer ago but you need people with legs around him to give him an ability to play and I’m not sure United is in that position yet.
“So I’m not surprised but these deals have many twists and turns, don’t be surprised it if comes back again.”
