Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the finances of a large number of people in Singapore have been adversely affected so they are interested in finding recreational activities for themselves, their families and friends which are free or do not cost much money. The Jewel at Changi airport is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore and has been developed after investing a large amount of money. While those who have money can go shopping at Jewel, others with a limited budget can enjoy the Jewel Changi free attractions which are discussed below.

Garden and forest

The arrival garden at Changi terminal one was developed in 2018 to replace the large open parking lot. The lush green garden features tropical plants, has a dragonfly theme and a feature pond. The Mexican fan palms have grown quickly and are more than 15 meters tall. The topiary and sculptures are also shaped like a dragonfly. The feature pond generates patterns and ripples which look similar to the dragonfly skimming the surface. Visitors enjoying photos of the pond. The Shiseido forest valley is an indoor forest with a wide variety of plants. Since the temperature, scent and sounds in this indoor forest are controlled, it is a very pleasant experience. Both the arrival garden and indoor forest are open all 24 hours to visitors to Jewel.

Art installations

Art lovers can enjoy the magnificent art installations by renowned artists at Changi airport for free. Some of the most popular attractions are the crystal clouds which use a large number of shimmering crystals to recreate the weather patterns. Dynamic lighting is used for illuminating these sixteen clouds. The grains of thought are another popular artwork at Jewel. This artwork has two large sculptures of rice grains which are suspended in mid-air, to remind people of the rice which is the staple food of many people in Singapore and the rest of Asia. The installations are located in the garden of the south gateway, near the main entrance of Jewel at Changi airport.

Apple training and products

To increase the popularity of the large range of Apple products, Apple is arranging free training for users of Apple products by creative specialists. Persons who do not have their own Apple products, can loan these products to attend the classes. During the classes experts explain how Apple gadgets can be best used for photography and videography. Using the iPhone, iPad or apple laptop, the attendees will learn the best ways to create movies, how to edit films and graphic design techniques. These classes are ideal for those who wish to practice existing techniques or learn better techniques. The free classes are open from 11 am to 10 pm and are free to register and attend.

Pokemon explorer

Additionally the Pokemon company has launched the Pokemon explorer with Changi airport. Visitors can download the Jewel mobile app and join the quest which includes exploring the entire complex to find clues, complete tasks. There are 25 different missions including collecting berries and catching magikarp. Top players winning enough points will be featured in the hall of fame and are eligible for gifts.
