Niles, Michigan had not seen a homicide since May, when a boy of 14 years old was shot to death, making August the most recent month with a deadly shooting.
Then, between August 16 and September 20, there was a series of three shootings that resulted in the deaths of four individuals – including two adolescent girls who were tragically shot last week – and the authorities suspect that the episodes may be connected to one another.
“According to the information that we have, we have reason to think that all three shootings are connected. We do not have concrete evidence, but based on everything that we know so far, it appears that all of these things are connected “according to information obtained by the media from a member of the Niles Police Department.
After Demi Galvin, 15, and Yasmeen Scott, 18, were killed by gunfire in Michigan on September 20, authorities in that state have continued their search for suspects in the sequence of shootings that occurred earlier that day.
