If you are fascinated by happenings in our universe, then 21st January is a day to look out for. A glimpse of something exceptional and uncommon is about to occur in our solar system. Have you ever heard of the planetary parade?
A planet parade or planetary alignment occurs when several of our planets in the solar system become visible in the night sky, all aligning at the same time. According to experts, six planets will be visible for all skygazers to behold. These planets include Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus.
This occurrence is expected to start on January 21st and for about four weeks afterward. While Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are expected to be visible to the naked eye, Neptune and Uranus will require a high-powered device like a telescope to view them.
The best times to view this precious moment will be just after sunset, preferably from 8:30 pm to midnight, depending on your location.
The parade should last for quite a while until the last week of February, so don’t panic if you don’t spot them in January. After February, Mercury will briefly join the parade, completing all the seven other planets in the solar system other than Earth.
So, get ready for skygazers and astronomy lovers. It’s time to lay in your lawns and gardens for a rare glimpse into a world that is usually hidden from our view—a precious moment that may never be forgotten.
