Concern and alarm have been voiced by the district authorities in Chester Upland over the current scenario.
Recent events in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, led to the arrest of a high school teacher and baseball coach on many criminal counts, one of which is improper sexual contact with minors.
According to a statement released by the Pennsylvania State Police on Tuesday, Daniel Waters, 57, of Glen Mills, was charged with inappropriate sexual contact with minors, corruption of juveniles, endangering the welfare of children, firearms charges, and other related offenses. The allegations stem from an investigation that occurred over the last few years.
According to the police, the investigation includes students and baseball players from the Chester Upland School District, where Waters is employed as a teacher and coach.
A member of the high school faculty at one of the district’s high schools was taken into custody, the school system said in a statement on Facebook, after allegations surfaced that the teacher had illegal contact with a student.
