Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso has revealed his desire to play in Spain again but also admit that he is willing to run down his contract at Chelsea,

Marcos Alonso has one year left on his contract at Chelsea and He has been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer. According to Spanish newspaper outlet Marca, Barcelona has agreed on personal terms with Marcos Alonso. the only thing left is for Barcelona to agree on a fee with Chelsea.

Alonso used to be the first choice left-back for Chelsea but seems to have lost his place to Ben Chilwell last season. Marcos Alonso was a regular starter for Chelsea last season after Ben Chilwell had suffered an injury this season.

The 31 years old Spanish international has won the Premier League, Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup since joining Chelsea from Fiorentina  in 2016.

What did Marcos Alonso say about his Chelsea future?

In an interview with Onda Cero, Marcos Alonso said: “On paper, I have one more year of the contract and that is what there is until today. I’ve already said other times that I would like to but it doesn’t depend entirely on me.

“There are two games left here and then it’s time to rest”.

“ I’ve played 50 games, we’ve been world champions, we’ve had bad luck in the cup finals.

“I can’t complain about anything at Chelsea but the desire to play in Spain is there. It doesn’t depend entirely on me and I’m happy at Chelsea, I’m sincere.”

Chelsea has already lost Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid on a free transfer after the 29 years Old defender ran down his contracts at Chelsea. This week, Real Madrid made the signing of Antonio Rudiger official.

Andrea Christensen is also expected to leave Chelsea this summer and he is also reported to join Barcelona this summer, Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta is also rumored to be leaving Chelsea with Barcelona as his prepared destination.

The question now remains how Chelsea under new Owners Todd Boehly-led -consortium can replace all these players during the summer transfer window. Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea are reported to have shortlisted five players as replacements for Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen this summer.

It was reported earlier this week that Chelsea has agreed on personal terms with Seville Jules kounde and the player and his agents have given green light for the Chelsea move, now the only thing left is for Chelsea to agree on a fee with Seville.
