According to ESPN, Borussia Dortmund is considering signing Ian Maatsen from Chelsea this month.
This season, the 21-year-old has only started one Premier League game. According to sources, Chelsea will let him go in the January transfer window if the right offer comes up.
The Premier League team is willing to let Maatsen go permanently, but reports from Germany indicate Dortmund would rather have him go on a temporary loan.
Maatsen was on loan at Burnley for the previous season. Chelsea and the newly promoted Premier League team agreed for Maatsen to return, but the Dutchman rejected the offer.

Although Maatsen’s primary position is left back, Mauricio Pochettino has mostly used him further forward in an attacking capacity. He has made 15 appearances, 12 of which have been as a substitute.
Additionally, Dortmund is moving forward with its plans to re-sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on a loan basis.
