Chelsea manager Graham Potter has provided a positive injury on French duo Wesley Fofana and N’Golo Kante.
Kante has not been in action for Chelsea since Match Day 2 of the Premier League against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge. The French international was injured in the second half against Antonio Conte’s side in the London Derby.
Although N’Golo Kante has returned to training, he is yet to be fully fit for selection.
Wesley Fofana was taken off against AC Milan in the Champions League after scoring Chelsea’s open goal and his first goal in the blues shirt.
What did Graham Potter say?
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Chelsea Premier League clash with Wolverhampton, Graham Potter said on Wesley Fofana’s injury: “Wesley is not as bad as we thought so that’s good, after the game of course we were concerned. It will be a few weeks I think but considerably better than it could be but we’ll miss him for a few weeks.”
Asked if he could recover in time for the World Cup, he said: “Yeah, it’s a possibility. Depends how his rehab goes and don’t want to put too much of a timescale on it, but there’s a chance of that.”
On N’Golo Kante, He added: “He’s doing more and more integration with the team. Still not ready for the weekend but getting closer.
“It is what it is. There’s nothing we can do, the injury happened and now it’s about trying to get him back fit and get him ready as we can so he can sustain a period of play. He’s been a bit in and out with injuries over a period of time, so we have to make sure when he’s back, he’s back for good. Strong and enjoying his football. There’s no frustration, just something we have to deal with.”
A win for Chelsea against Wolverhampton could take Chelsea to fourth position on the League table.
