Authorities reported four detainees escaped from a jail in central Georgia on Monday. One was being jailed on suspicion of murder.
Joey Fournier, 52, Marc Kerry Anderson, 24, Johnifer Dernard Barnwell, 37, and Chavis Demaryo Stokes, 29, escaped from the Bibb County Detention Center early Monday by climbing out of a damaged window in a day room and then passing through a cut fence. At 3 a.m. ET, a blue Dodge Challenger came up and assisted all four convicts in escaping. The jail lies in Macon, which is around 80 miles southeast of Atlanta.
Fornier was being kept in the jail for murder, Anderson for aggravated assault, Barnwell for the US Marshals, and Stokes for possession of a firearm and narcotics trafficking, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.
In addition to the Bibb County sheriff, many agencies are now participating in the search for all four, including the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the United States Marshals Office. Anyone with information on the inmates’ whereabouts or the Challenger accused of facilitating their escape has been requested to contact the sheriff’s office or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers.
The county sheriff and Crime Stoppers are offering a $1,000 prize for tips that lead to an arrest for each inmate. Anyone with information can phone one of two tip lines set up expressly for this case at 478-310-4502 or 478-310-4485, in addition to reporting tips directly to them.
