As GOP candidate for governor Lee Zeldin attacks the state’s “pro-criminal policies,” a spokesperson for New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said the governor is committed to “keeping New Yorkers safe” after a Marist College student’s father was killed in a shooting Sunday at a hotel close to school.
Julie Wood, director of communications for Hochul, stated, “Our hearts are with the family and friends of Paul Kutz as they grieve this awful loss.” Keeping New Yorkers safe is Gov. Hochul’s top concern. She continues to engage with law enforcement and local leaders every day to enhance the criminal justice system, reduce violence, and boost public safety in communities across the state. “
Zeldin, on the other hand, criticized Democratic policies in New York, which he and many other members of the GOP attribute to high crime rates and issues with public safety.
“The pro-criminal policies in New York are endangering regular New Yorkers. Consequently, another innocent family has been split up “Zeldin, a representative in office, stated.
“The city of New Yorkers is over being over it. Everyday New Yorkers are paying a high price for Democrats’ pro-criminal, anti-law and order policies, like cashless bail, Less is More, the HALT Act, and others “Zeldin went on.
