Two teachers in the same Virginia school district were detained for “inappropriate interaction” with minors following an investigation.
Both Matthew Geyer, a teacher’s assistant at Sherando High School, and Emily Walker, a physical education teacher at Frederick County Middle School, were detained after a Frederick County Sheriff’s Office investigation launched in March revealed that both had “inappropriate contact” with students.
Walker, 23, is alleged to have had repeated sexual encounters with a 12-year-old student, and it was discovered that the two had exchanged hundreds of SMS. The discussions eventually got to the point where physical contact was expected.
The student, a boy who is now 13 years old, is accused of kissing Walker many times while on school grounds.
Geyer, 41, is accused of having a sexual contact with a male student, 16, whom he met through a social media app.
Before having consensual sexual intercourse, Geyer and the student are said to have met at the student’s house.
A felony accusation of having indecent contact with a child is brought against Walker, who handed herself in willingly to the Regional Adult Detention Facility.
After being charged with the delinquency of a minor, Geyer was taken into custody and is currently being held without bond.
