In Georgia, candidates sponsored by Trump fared poorly in the election.
Despite suffering devastating defeats in several crucial races on Tuesday night’s results of the Republican primaries, former President Donald Trump declared victory for his political movement.
The majority of Trump’s failures were concentrated in Georgia, where he made a concerted effort but was ultimately unsuccessful in removing Republican Governor Brian Kemp from office. In addition, he campaigned for the removal of Brad Raffensperger from his position as secretary of state; however, both men were re-elected with overwhelming majorities. The two became Trump’s most wanted men as a result of their opposition to the president’s efforts to overturn the presidential election scheduled for 2020.
