After Sliwa and other protesters blocked a road, which he called “civil disobedience,” they were jailed.
Curtis Sliwa, the founder of Guardian Angels and a past Republican candidate for mayor of New York City, was arrested while protesting the Midland Beach Migrant Shelter on Staten Island on Sunday.

Sliwa and his followers were seen on video marching in front of the Midland Beach Migrant Shelter, which used to be called the Midland Beach Senior Citizen Home.

In a news statement before the event, Sliwa said of New York City’s mayor, “Eric Adams kicked out the elderly people who lived in this nursing home so that illegal immigrants could live there.” “He is a bad person.”
Sliwa criticized lawmakers for helping to clear buildings for the “invasion of illegal immigrants” into areas in New York City.

“First, we need to take care of our people. He told migrants and illegal immigrants to go to the back of the line. “Why do these illegal immigrants get to skip the line and go straight to the top?”

As an act of civil disobedience, Sliwa asked the people in the room to stop the street with him when he was done speaking.

He linked arms with other protesters and blocked the street while some waved American flags and many shouted, “USA, USA, USA.”

Sliwa and others were finally caught, handcuffed, and put into a police car.
On Wednesday, he took a group of protesters to the Creedmoor Hospital Grounds, where a tent shelter for refugees had been set up.

“Be kind. No camping town!” Sliwa shouted and made negative comments about Mayor Eric Adams. “We’ll keep hammering this point home until you decide to be the mayor and represent the American people who live in New York City, pay taxes, and can pay for you to wear a $5000 custom suit every day.”

The video showed that Sliwa and other protesters were handcuffed and taken away.

The mayor’s office says that since spring, more than 93,000 migrants have come to New York City. At a press meeting earlier this month, Mayor Eric Adams said there is no extended room for migrants to stay in the city.
