The investigation into a burglary resulted in the death of one suspect, while the other managed to flee the scene.

A man in the Los Angeles area is said to have shot and killed one of two suspect thieves who broke into his home overnight to protect himself and his wife early on Saturday morning, according to the authorities.

A break-in was reported to have occurred in the 20000 block of East Country Hollow Drive in Walnut, which is a community located in the eastern section of Los Angeles County. Deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene shortly before 4 a.m.

It was reported by two people, one aged 27 and the other aged 26, that they heard footsteps and hurried over to investigate the noise.

After the male homeowner confronted the armed invader, a gunfight broke out between the two parties. According to authorities, the suspect was killed by a single shot to the upper body, which was all it needed for him to die of his injuries.
