The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced on Monday that it has begun looking into the shooting as a probable instance of hate crime.
On Monday, a shooting took place inside a hair shop located in Koreatown, and on Tuesday, the Dallas police department said that an arrest had been made in connection with the crime. The shooting left three women injured.
At the beginning of this week, a lone shooter entered the Hair World Salon and opened fire on three women, all of whom were of Korean descent. Because the women’s injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, they were permitted to go back to their homes.
On Monday, the Dallas field office of the FBI acknowledged that a federal investigation into possible hate crimes related to the shooting had been opened.
Eddie Garcia, the chief of police for the city, believes that the shooting may be related to two previous incidents of shootings in the city that were motivated by racism and that occurred the day before this one.
