The fact that a Tallahassee police officer passed away while he was being treated in the hospital has been validated by the investigators.
On Wednesday, an officer with the Tallahassee Police Department was struck and killed by a suspect who, according to the investigators, was driving “into oncoming traffic” when the incident occurred. The incident took place while the suspect was driving into traffic that was coming in the opposite direction.
Just after midnight, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting an assault that had taken place inside of a property, as stated in a statement that was issued jointly by both law enforcement agencies.
Tyrone Cleveland, 37, is accused of entering the residence in which he lives and opening fire on three members of his family before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. This is according to the statement that was released. The victims’ gunshot wounds ultimately led to their deaths.
A short while later, officers located the suspect’s vehicle around 15 miles distant from the property where the crime had taken place.
