A car slammed into a group of onlookers during a drag racing event in Texas, two children were killed.

Among those killed were two young boys, aged 6 and 8, who was killed in the crash.

The driver of a drag racing vehicle lost control on a runway at an airport in Texas, killing two children and injuring eight others, according to officials.

It was determined by investigators that the driver “lost control and exited the runway, slamming into parked vehicles and injuring spectators.”

According to a news release from the Kerrville Police Department, a six-year-old boy and an eight-year-old boy were killed in a crash at the Kerrville-Kerr County Airport on Saturday afternoon. This professionally organized event, which drew tens of thousands of spectators, included drivers racing down an asphalt runway at high speeds for cash awards.
