Former Chelsea and Arsenal defender William Gallas has picked his top four for next season’s Premier League.
The former French international expects Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea to secure the top three whilst Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal battle for the fourth position.
William Gallas had named Tottenham as the surprise package for next season’s Premier League and he expects them to Mount a serious title challenge under Antonio Conte following an excellent summer.
Tottenham finished fourth last season ahead of Arsenal after Antonio Conte took charge of the North London side in November following Nuno Espirito Santo dismissal. The North London club was ninth on the league table and was able to steer them to a top-four finish.
Antonio Conte has been backed in the transfer summer by Daniel Levy. Tottenham has signed Richarlison for £60 million from Everton, Yves Bissouma for for £25 million from Brighton, Fraser Foster from Southampton, and Ivan Ivan Perišić from Inter Milan.
Manchester City had also been active in the transfer market with the signing of Erling Haaland for £ 51 million for Dortmund and Kelvin Philips for £42 million for Leeds United.
Liverpool had broken a club record of £100 million to sign Darwin Nunez from Benfica and Fabio Calvaho from Fulham.
Chelsea has also started to build momentum in the transfer market after agreeing on a fee with Manchester City duo sign Raheem Sterling and Nathan Ake.
Gallas has not ruled out Arsenal’s chances of missing a top four with the addition of Gabriel Jesus for £45 million from Manchester City, Fabio Viera for £ 40 million from Porto, Matt Turner from New England Revolution, and Maquinhos from Sao Paulo.
What did William Gallas say?
The former French international said on Granting Casino via Metro Sports: “I think they can cause trouble to the big clubs.
“They will cause problems as they will be very strong this season, especially with the mentality of Antonio Conte.”
Picking his top four contenders for next season, He said: “I don’t want to, but I have to put [Manchester] City because they look like they are going to be very strong.
