Terry Gene Bollea, globally known as Hulk Hogan, has died at the age of 71. The WWE Hall of Famer passed away on July 24, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida, reportedly after suffering cardiac arrest at his home. His death has sent shockwaves through the wrestling world and among fans of 1980s and ’90s pop culture.
Hogan, with his unmistakable handlebar mustache, red-and-yellow ring gear, and booming charisma, was more than just a wrestlerhe was a phenomenon. He helped turn professional wrestling into a global spectacle during his heyday and played a key role in WWE’s explosion into mainstream entertainment.
Born in Augusta, Georgia, on August 11, 1953, Hogan began his wrestling career in the late 1970s. He rose to superstardom in the 1980s under Vince McMahon’s WWF, becoming the face of WrestleMania and headlining eight of the first nine events. His feuds with Andre the Giant, Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, and others became legendary.
