A video of a New Jersey Transit employee telling a group of Germans to “get the f— out of our country” while heading towards New York City went viral earlier this week. The employee in issue was fired as a result of the event.
In the footage, Brianna Pinnix, 30, is heard calling a group of German men “f—ing immigrants.” On Tuesday, the video was uploaded on Reddit. The video’s title refers to her as “unhinged Karen.”
Pinnix wrote on her now-deleted LinkedIn page that she worked as a senior talent acquisition specialist for the New York-based pharmaceutical business Capital Rx.
The firm posted a video of the persons who were fired from the business on Thursday.
At our organization, we will not allow any type of bigotry or discrimination. “We responded quickly and dismissed the employee in question after conducting an assessment of the facts,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
Capital Rx “sincerely apologizes to those who were hurt” by the former employee’s “actions and words,” according to the statement, adding that “the former employee’s actions and words are not representative of Capital Rx.”
German can be heard from one of the people in the video who was supposed to be the target of Pinnix’s outburst. She appears upset by a comment he makes and continues to ask him for clarity. Throughout the outburst, he remains sitting, finally rising to his feet when Pinnix approaches him immediately.
After Pinnix’s tantrum, her male buddy attempts to calm her down by stating, “I’m an immigrant.” I know what it’s like to be an immigrant. That cannot be correct.
Later, he restrains Pinnix as she yells at the gathering, “How about you get the f— out of our country?”
Several individuals are surprised by Pinnix’s outburst, while others offer to assist her pal calm down.
The video’s uploader recounted what happened in a Reddit comment, stating it happened aboard a New Jersey Transit train returning fans to New York City following the New York Jets’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. The uploader of the video alleges that Pinnix’s intended victim changed cars soon after the tape concluded.
