Willy Caballero was born on December 17, 1980, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is believed to be the son of William and Adriana Caballero. As a child, Willy Caballero went to school at Colegio San Pascual Baylon where he played football for his high school team. After graduating from High School (1995), Willy enrolled in an Economics degree program at Universidad Católica Argentina before leaving University to pursue professional soccer as a goalkeeper.
Caballero started out playing futsal with Club Atlético Palermo when he turned 13 years old but soon transitioned into outdoor soccer (1996). His skills were noticed by Olimpo de Bahia Blanca who quickly signed him up/

Willy Caballero played for Club Atlético Palermo, Club Atletico Tigre and Boca Juniors. He also had brief stints with River Plate FC, America de Cali in Colombia, and Spanish club Elche CF.
In 2013 he signed a two-year contract to play for Manchester City as their second goalkeeper after Joe Hart became the first choice following his excellent performance during Euro 2012.
Roma (2016 – Present)
He has made ninety appearances so far at Roma and since 2016 is the first choice keeper under manager Luciano Spalletti; before that Benatia was always a starter but resigned from playing football on the 25th of August 2018 due to injury troubles which led Caballero to get back into the polls. Willy has since been with Chelsea football club from the bench.
