The draw for the third round of 2022/2023 Carabao Cup was held Wednesday live on Sky Sports. Chelsea was handed a tough test with a trip to Etihad to face six times Carabao Champions in Manchester City.
Last season’s winner Liverpool will host League one side Derby County. Manchester United will face Steven Gerard’s side Aston Villa.
The last time Chelsea faced Manchester City in the Carabao Cup was in 2019 when Manchester City defeated Chelsea in the finals of the Carabao Cup on Penalties. Chelsea also defeated Manchester City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup in 1984 at Stamford Bridge by 4-1.
Manchester City 1993 defeated Chelsea in the round of the Carabao Cup by 1-0.
