As a result of the catastrophe that occurred at the school, 19 children and two teachers lost their lives.
Pete Arredondo, the head of the school’s police department, was not held accountable in any way during the first board meeting that the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) had convened after the tragic mass shooting that occurred at the school.
An open prayer session was arranged as a response to the tragedy that occurred on May 24 at Robb Elementary School, where a total of 21 people were slain, including 19 children and two teachers. The victims of the shooting included a total of 21 persons.

According to The Texas Tribune, during the section of the meeting that took place behind closed doors, the board of directors concluded that they would not terminate Arredondo even though they had the authority to do so.
During the beginning of the event, Superintendent Dr. Hal Harrell expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and referred to the educators who had passed away as “heroes.”
