Uvalde school police chief claims he is helping with Robb Elementary shooting investigation: report

Previously, the Texas Department of Public Safety stated that Pete Arredondo was not helping them with their investigations.

According to reports, hours after state investigators indicated he wasn’t working with them, the Texas police chief who has been criticized for his handling of the Uvalde school massacre claimed Wednesday that he had been talking to state investigators.

“I am in communication with the [Texas Department of Public Safety] every day,” Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District law enforcement chief Pete Arredondo told authorities outside his home.

Previously, the Texas Department of Public Safety stated that Pete Arredondo was not helping them with their investigations.

According to reports, hours after state investigators indicated he wasn’t working with them, the Texas police chief who has been criticized for his handling of the Uvalde school massacre claimed Wednesday that he had been talking to state investigators.

“I am in communication with the [Texas Department of Public Safety] every day,” Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District law enforcement chief Pete Arredondo told authorities outside his home.

As a courtesy to Arredondo’s grieving family, he asked that the public swearing-in ceremony for his new position on the Uvalde City Council, which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, be kept “hidden.”

Following the shooting that took place at Robb Elementary in Texas the previous week, authorities with the Texas Department of Public Safety informed The News God that Arredondo, who they claim was the on-scene commander there, was not collaborating with their investigation into the police response.

Arredondo is the school police chief for Uvalde’s Robb Elementary School, which was the scene of a shooting last week. According to reports, local and school district police have ceased collaborating with state investigators looking into the mass shooting and the police reaction.

Following the shooting that took place at Robb Elementary in Texas the previous week, authorities with the Texas Department of Public Safety informed The News God that Arredondo, who they claim was the on-scene commander there, was not collaborating with their investigation into the police response.
