Who said that gases are just used in laboratories? Who said that there are only two or three types of gases?

There are various types of gases, and each of them has its unique properties and uses in our daily life. Some of them are oxygen, nitrogen, helium, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, etc. Each of them is considered to be specialty gas since they have different and multiple uses. Many might know only a few uses of some gases and might even not know that if gas has a use or not, but every gas is unique in its way.

Uses of a few of the gases :

  1. Oxygen: Oxygen is a colourless, odourless and tasteless gas. In the free state, oxygen is found to be 21% in the atmosphere. Oxygen plays a significant role in human respiration. Humans need oxygen to breathe to survive. To check upon the common uses of oxygen, we see in steel and other metals, textiles, plastics, etc. It is also a very important gas in aircraft, submarines and also rockets.
  2. Hydrogen: Hydrogen is a colourless, odourless gas that is tasteless. Its presence in the air is very less. It is among that 2% of the other gases, but hydrogen is a very useful gas. It is used in a lot of different ways. The most basic use of hydrogen gas is to provide us with hydration. The water we consume daily is made with hydrogen. Hydrogen gas is also using in welding, producing fertilisers and also in rocket fuel.
  3. Carbon Dioxide: In a free state, carbon dioxide is found in traces. Carbon dioxide is another very important gas. It is used in fire extinguishers, growth promotion in the greenhouse, carbonated beverages, producing fertilisers. It is also used in food industries.
  4. Helium: Helium gas is another gas that doesn’t have an important place in the atmosphere but is found in traces. Although it is found in traces, it is a very useful gas. It is used in balloons, medicines, arc welding and many more.
  5. Liquified petroleum gas: It is a gas found in every home. It is used as a fuel gas for cooking purposes, not only in homes but also in hotels, restaurants, and industrial applications in different industries. Day by day, the importance of this gas is increasing g as it is seen replacing chlorofluorocarbons for reducing the damage to the ozone layer.
  6. Nitrogen: Nitrogen is about 78% in the free state being the highest percentage of gas in the atmosphere. Nitrogen gas plays a very important role in chemical industries. It is also used in the manufacture of fertilisers, nylon and dyes. Nitrogen gas is a very famous gas for the preservation of foods.
  7. Argon: Argon being a noble has less reactive than the others and has a lower percentage in the atmosphere. Argon is used in various industries and manufacturing sectors. From the food and drink industry to manufacturing industries, it is used everywhere. Argon is added to drinks, preferentially in wine bottles to keep the freshness alive while we are storing it. In manufacturing industries, it is popularly used for welding purposes, used within neon lights in lightning. Around the house, it is also used for thermal insulation.
  8. Compressed Natural Gas: This gas is colourless, odourless and non-corrosive. It is used as a vehicle fuel and is much cheaper and eco-friendly than other fuels like petrol and diesel. It is also popularly used in the manufacture of chemicals and fertilisers. CNG is used as a cooking gas worldwide and is the most important use of it.

In conclusion, every gas in the atmosphere or laboratory is a specialty gas in human life. Each gas has its unique properties and features and helps us with different chores. One might find it difficult to procure some of these gases as if they fall into the wrong hands and someone can use them n the wrong ways. It is easy for one to procure them through Core Gas.
