Shakur was fatally shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 1996 when he was 25 years old.
The late musician Tupac Shakur was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday, just a few days before what would have been his 52nd birthday.
Sekyima “Set” As she talked about her brother’s ambition to have a star installed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Shakur, Shakur’s sister and the person who received the plaque on their behalf, fought back tears as she spoke about her brother.
Before making the major news, she made the following remark: “From the very first time he stepped foot on this stage of the Apollo Theater at 13 years old, before anyone recognized his name, he knew he had the dream to have a star here on the Walk of Fame.”
In spite of the fact that it was announced in 2013 that Shakur would be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Shakur’s family and estate are the ones who decided when the star would be put in place. They decided on June 7 as the day for the celebration, nine days before his real birthday, which is on June 16.
