A little before 8:00 in the morning, Joran van der Sloot’s private plane took off with him on board.
Joran van der Sloot and several FBI agents have boarded an aircraft together, which left Peru early on Thursday morning and is now en route to the United States.
Natalee Holloway, a student at Mountain Brook High School in Alabama, vanished in May of 2005 while on a graduation trip to Aruba with her classmates. The school organized the trip. Van der Sloot is the primary person of interest in her disappearance.
The attorney representing van der Sloot, Maximo Altez, claims that the plane took off from Jorge Chavez International Airport a few minutes before 8:00 in the morning.
Altez’s client submitted a number of appeals to the Peruvian courts in an attempt to prevent the temporary extradition. Still, the courts in Peru did not issue a ruling on any of those appeals before the client departed the country.
