Former President Donald Trump has arrived at his Miami hotel, Trump National Doral, where he will spend the night before his federal court appearance on Tuesday.
The 37 charges against Trump range from withholding national defense documents to making false statements. Law enforcement agencies are already preparing for possible demonstrations throughout the city and outside the former president’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
Trump left his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he typically spends his summers, earlier in the day before boarding “Trump Force Once” and flying from Newark Liberty International Airport to Miami International Airport.
Trump was previously required to fly from Florida to New York City in early April to be arraigned on unrelated state charges. This is the second journey Trump has been compelled to make this year between the Northeast and Florida to attend a court appearance regarding criminal charges against him.
Trump is facing 37 charges this week, including 31 counts of intentionally withholding national defense information, three counts of withholding or concealing documents during a federal investigation, two counts of making fraudulent statements, and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice.
Tuesday at 3 p.m. Eastern, Trump is scheduled to appear at the federal courthouse in Miami.
Trump asserts, regarding this case, that he is the victim of a “political hit job,” a claim he has long held regarding various investigations into his business dealings.
“I HOPE THE ENTIRE COUNTRY IS WATCHING WHAT THE RADICAL LEFT IS DOING TO AMERICA,” Trump wrote on Monday before boarding his aircraft.
