Dean Saunders has tipped Tottenham Hotspurs to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League next season following brilliant summer signings.
Antonio Conte has turned things around at Tottenham Hotspurs after replacing Nuno Espírito Santo in November last year. Before joining Tottenham, the North London Club was 9th on the Premier League table after a couple of signings in the winter transfer, He was able to change their fortunes.
Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski both joined Tottenham from Juventus in the winter transfer. There are reports that Daniel Levy has given a £150 million transfer budget to spend in this summer.
The North London club made a strong statement of intents to the other Premier League clubs about their readiness to challenge for the Premier League next season by confirming the signing of three players.
Tottenham has signed Yves Bissouma from Brighton, Ivan Perisic for free from Inter Milan, and Fraser Forster from Southampton. they are also in the transfer market seeking to add more new signings to their squad.
Antonio Conte’s side finished 4th in the Premier League and will be competing in the Champions League next season, it is only prudent that they strengthen their squad for next season.
However, Dean Saunders believes with new summer signings Tottenham Hotspurs are on course to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool after finishing 22 and 21 points shy of Manchester City and Liverpool last season.
What did Dean Saunders say?
Speaking on the Weekend Sports Breakfast on talkSPORTS, the former Liverpool and Aston Villa forward said: “He’s gone in there, got the running stats up, and they’ve got ready-made pros there who have now got the bit between their teeth.
“He’s made two good signings from the club he was at in the past and they’ve both played well.
“They’ve got [Heung-Min] Son, [Harry] Kane, [Pierre-Emile] Hojbjerg, [Cristian] Romero, and if they sign another world-class center-back, [Djed] Spence is a better prospect than Emerson.
“The manager is relentless. He doesn’t just want to win something now, he’s not interested in four years he’ll have a good team, he wants to win something now or he’s off.
“He will be saying: ‘Let me know, Daniel Levy if you don’t give me the funds to buy the ready mades’. Perisic is ready-made. He’s going to improve them right now. “I think they are a couple of signings away from having a right go at Man City and Liverpool.”
Dean Saunder is the latest person to tip Tottenham to Mount serious Premier League challenge next season. Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel also tipped Tottenham and Manchester United to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League next season.
Jamie O’Hara earlier this week made a bold claim saying Tottenham can now attract better players in the transfer window than Manchester United.
