It was discovered that a person living in Atlanta had become infected with the virus that has been circulating recently.

In the state of Georgia, the monkeypox virus has been identified in one individual who has been proven to have the disease.

The information that was provided by the State Department of Public Health indicates that a male resident of the metro Atlanta area who has a history of traveling internationally has been identified as having a confirmed infection with the orthopoxvirus. This individual’s travel history includes multiple international destinations.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has indicated in a tweet that it is doing “confirmatory tests” to determine whether or not the illness in question is monkeypox.
