The delay that the committee has experienced has not been provided with an explanation.
Thursday will now be the day that the House Select Committee meeting that was supposed to take place this week to investigate the attack on the United States Capitol on January 6 takes place.
In question, the committee has not yet explained the announcement that was issued on Tuesday. The committee held an earlier primetime session the previous week in advance of the hearing that would take place on Monday.
The committee that was established on January 6 is entrusted with the investigation of the circumstances leading up to and during the pro-Trump takeover of the United States Capitol in early 2021. On Monday, the committee held a hearing that placed a significant emphasis on former President Donald Trump’s efforts to utilize the legal system to change the results of the 2020 election.
The hearing that was slated to take place on Wednesday was expected to center on President Trump’s efforts to use the Justice Department in his effort to reject the findings.
