A Texas maintenance worker was shot and murdered while inspecting pipes at an apartment building after a resident observed him and thought a burglar was trying to break in.
At Clayton Point Apartments on Alouette Drive in Grand Prairie on Christmas Eve, 53-year-old Cesar Montelongo was inspecting the pipes.
At about six o’clock in the evening, Montelongo was allegedly standing on a balcony when the occupant of that apartment caught his attention, according to Grand Prairie Police.
The resident pulled out a gun and shot Montelongo through the window because he believed, incorrectly, that his flat was being burgled.
