According to the local police chief, the South Carolina lady who was shot and killed in a Kroger parking lot spit on the suspect following a dispute “about who had the right-of-way.”
According to witnesses, 26-year-old Alexandria Cress Borys was shot and killed on February 14 at around 4 p.m. in Irmo, South Carolina, after a dispute “over who had the right-of-way” in the parking lot of a nearby Kroger grocery, according to Irmo Chief of Police Bobby Dale.
Dale said on Tuesday that Borys and Harrison, who was driving a car, “talked” while Borys was walking and Harrison was putting groceries in his car.
Dale noted in an email that Borys spat at Harrison at about that time. Harrison shot at the same time as Borys turned away.
Dale claimed that Harrison gave Borys a single headshot to the back. On the spot, she was declared dead.
Harrison, 23, was accused of murder, carrying a gun without a permit, and having a weapon when committing a violent crime. Dale said that she has no known criminal background.
“Unfortunately, tempers got out of control in this case, and someone’s rage got the better. One hasty action affected two families’ lives and the lives of countless others who saw this awful occurrence.” Soon after the shooting, Dale released a statement. Senseless is the only adjective I can think of to characterize what happened today.
It was unclear if Borys’ young children or those of a relative were with her when the incident took place. According to a spokesman for Kroger, the company “offered video to help the Irmo Police Department in their investigation.” The spokeswoman declared that this incident was senseless. We condolences and prayers to the victim’s family and friends.
Tyler Borys, the husband of Borys, informed one of the media that his wife’s brother had been shot and killed less than a week before she passed away. According to the report, he said that his wife was a local cosmetologist who had just started nursing school.
Tyler praised his wife as “a lovely woman, fantastic mother, loving wife, trusting friend, and so so much more” on a GoFundMe page set up in Borys’ honor.
