Tropical Storm Alex has been blamed for the deaths of three people and has damaged a significant number of dwellings in Cuba. The storm also left several people homeless.
As an immediate and unavoidable result of the tropical cyclone Alex, the first named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season was headed toward Bermuda on Sunday after it caused flooding in many neighborhoods in Florida. Alex was the first named storm of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season. Alex was the first storm of the season to be given a name.
After gaining strength overnight close to the east coast of Florida, Alex was upgraded to the status of a tropical storm early on Sunday morning. It had sustained winds that reached a maximum of 35 miles per hour.
At eight in the morning Eastern Time, meteorologists stated that Alex was located 635 miles to the west-southwest of Bermuda and had maximum sustained winds of fifty miles per hour (eighty kilometers per hour).

It was expected to make landfall in Bermuda on Monday as it was traveling in a path to the northeast at a pace of 22 miles per hour (35 kilometers per hour). There was a warning issued for that area indicating that a tropical storm was possible.
