With almost three times as much cash on hand as the RNC at the beginning of the election season, the DNC

Democrats have a significant financial edge over Republicans, struggling with a cash crunch and party division in crucial battleground states. This has helped Democrats start the election year on a positive note.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has almost three times as much cash on hand as the Republican National Committee (RNC), and it raised nearly three times as much money in the last month of 2023, according to year-end reports that were submitted to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) this week.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has almost three times as much cash on hand as the Republican National Committee (RNC), and it raised nearly three times as much money in the last month of 2023, according to year-end reports that were submitted to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) this week.

Several other state party officials are facing felony charges for their alleged role in a fake electors scheme attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in the state. Meanwhile, newly elected state GOP chairman Pete Hoekstra and ousted former chairwoman Kristina Karamo have been in a power struggle over who controls the party in Michigan.

The state Republican Party in North Carolina burned through cash and is already $72,000 in debt, according to the FEC report. At the same time, Republican Party Chairman Michael McDonald was charged with a similar phony elector fraud.

In an attempt to win the party’s nomination, Republican presidential contenders have spent hundreds of millions of dollars on advertising, preventing the party from uniting around a single candidate and concentrating on the general election.

DNC spokesman Alex Floyd told Fox News Digital, “The Republican National Committee has turned into a financial dumpster fire at a time when they literally cannot afford it.”
“With the 2024 field already having blown through millions attacking each other and GOP state parties descending into infighting and heading toward bankruptcy, Republican donors may want to consider just lighting their money on fire themselves rather than wasting time giving it to the RNC,” he stated.

Fox News Digital has contacted the RNC for a statement.

According to a source with knowledge of the RNC’s finances, who spoke to Fox News Digital, when direct fundraising is taken into consideration, and transfers from other joint fundraising groups are left out, the RNC raised more money in 2023 than any other Republican or Democratic committee—except the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).

The source added that the RNC has already invested substantial money in early voting and ballot-harvesting campaigns, staff augmentations in fifteen battleground states, and other efforts. However, the source did not clarify whether these actions were directly connected to the party’s lack of cash.

This week, Fox News revealed that the RNC raised $12 million in January, the highest amount for any month in 2023.
