Fist! Fight! Fight! was Walls’ cry as he pumped his fist, echoing Trump’s response to an attempted assassination.

Taylor Walls, the shortstop for the Tampa Bay Rays, stated that he did not mean for his celebration after hitting a home run on Sunday to be interpreted as a vote of support for President Trump.

Walls yelled, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” as he pumped his fist and glanced toward his dugout following a double against the New York Yankees. Walls was imitating Trump’s motion after getting shot in the ear on July 13 during a rally in Pennsylvania during an attempted assassination.

Walls stated that following a hit, he is unlikely to repeat the celebration.
